Chapter 01 — After install
Sign in once. The agent remembers you and waits in the tray.
Sign in, then start tracking when work starts
Open EmpGrid and sign in with the email and password of your EmpGrid account. The status window shows a Start Tracking button, a running timer and your attendance for the day. Close it and the agent keeps running in the system tray.

Chapter 02 — Updates
New versions find you. You choose when to install them.
Updates arrive inside the app
A few seconds after it starts, the agent checks empgrid.app for a newer version. If there is one, it asks before downloading, then offers to restart. Choose Later at the restart prompt and the update installs the next time you quit EmpGrid.

How do updates work?
Each time EmpGrid starts, it checks for a newer version. If one is available it asks whether to download it, then asks whether to restart. If you choose Later at the restart prompt, the update installs when you next quit the app. You can also press Check in the status window.
How do I stop tracking?
Press Stop Tracking in the status window, or right-click the EmpGrid tray icon and choose Stop Tracking. Logging out or quitting the app also stops tracking. Nothing is collected while tracking is stopped.
What does the agent capture?
While tracking is on: session times, counts of key presses and mouse clicks (never which keys), the active app and window title, and a screenshot every 10 minutes. The security page lists everything it records and everything it never records.
Does it start by itself?
The app opens when you sign in to Windows, unless you switch off "Start on boot" in the status window. Tracking does not start until you press Start Tracking.
What if my internet connection drops?
Activity and screenshots that cannot be sent are queued on your computer and retried automatically while tracking is on.
Windows warned me about the installer. Is that expected?
Windows SmartScreen can show a warning for installers downloaded from the internet. Check that the file came from empgrid.app, then choose More info and Run anyway. If you are unsure, email [email protected] before running it.
Is there a Mac or Linux version?
Not yet. Both are coming later. Today the desktop agent is Windows only, and the web dashboard works in any modern browser.
How do I uninstall it?
Quit EmpGrid from the tray menu, then open Windows Settings, go to Apps, find EmpGrid and choose Uninstall.
